COMMUNICATION AND
CIVIC INVOLVEMENT
• Approved Tree Advisory Committee communications plan.
• Advocated for and hired a Community Outreach Specialist.
• Directed staff to issue RFP for community-wide broadband services.
• Replaced and updated Berthoud wireless communications facilities code.

GOVERNANCE
• Serving as an observer on the Northwest Metro Regional Energy Code Cohort. (Pursuing Net Zero building code by 2030.)
• Interviewed and appointed members to the Tree Advisory Committee, PORT Committee, and Planning Commission, along with two individuals to fill a Trustee vacancy and serve on the board until April of 2024.
• Revised and approved the Town Administrator contract for three years.

MANAGING DEVELOPMENT AND PRESERVING HISTORY
• Designated 545 7th Street a local historical landmark.
• Reviewed, revised, and approved 2021 IBC, IRC, EBC, IECC, IPC, IMC, IFGC, GSC Regulation 86, and ISP&SC building codes.
• Approved the 2020 NEC updated building code.
• Coordinated with the Colorado Municipal League and other municipal officials and testified before the Colorado House and Senate on Colorado SB23-213 Land Use Bill and
• Introduced and approved Berthoud Resolution 06.2023 with regards to Colorado SB23-213 Land Use Bill.
• Assisted in the donation of a 1927 Berthoud fire truck to the Berthoud Fire Department and waived $8,000 in building fees for a new museum.
• Reviewed, revised, and approved a Berthoud Metro District policy.
• Initiated, reviewed, revised, and approved a Berthoud Short-Term Rental policy.
• Reviewed, revised, and approved the 1st Street Corridor Overlay Plan.
• Testified before the Colorado House on Colorado SB24-092 Cost Effective Building Codes Bill.

​FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
• Reviewed and approved the 2023 Town Budget with supplemental Murphy amendments:​
• $60,000 more for crosswalk safety lights
• $1,500 more for each town committee
• $200,000 more for sidewalk repairs
• The Larimer County Sheriff's Department Statement of Work will be discussed and approved in tandem with the budget.
• Reviewed and approved the 2024 Town Budget.
• Reviewed and approved the 2021, 2022, and 2023 Budget Audit.
• Reviewed and approved 2022, 2023, and 2024 mid-year budget adjustments and supplemental funds.

PUBLIC SAFETY
• Revised municipal court penalties and collections procedure.
• Approved and ordinance on revised park hours.
• Created and introduced an adulticide mosquito policy, improved communications, provided safety data sheets, provided reporting options for the public, and increased education and support for bats in insect control. Following staff and legal alterations, the policy was approved.
• Reviewed and approved code updates for marijuana businesses.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING
• Approved nine Habitat for Humanity lots in the Harvest 47 project and waived fees for four Habitat for Humanity homes.
• Allocated $35,000 in funds to the House of Neighborly Services for resident utility assistance.
• Approved town support for Proposition 123 which funds housing projects in Colorado.
• Coordinated with housing advocates, planning commissioners, and staff on policy and code improvements for affordable housing on the Housing Plan Steering Committee.

PARKS, RECREATION, AND
OPEN SPACE
• Reviewed, negotiated, and approved the purchase of the 12 acre, Newell Farm for use as a park in perpetuity.
• Reviewed and approved funding for the Pioneer Park pollinator garden.
• Reviewed and approved the $2.5 million, Berthoud Bike Park.
• Reviewed, modified, and approved Town Park request for bid documents.
• Reviewed and approved the $1.35 million, pickleball courts at Waggener Farm Park.
• Revised, reviewed and approved the $6.25 million, Town Park Phase I Renovation.
• Revised, reviewed and approved the new Berthoud Landscape Design Guidelines for new developments.
• Collaborated with and approved funding up to $650,000 for the Berthoud Adaptive Park Project led by a local family.
• Directed staff and the PORT Committee to conduct a community survey to prioritize new Park and Recreation Development.
• Assisted in negotiations for and approved multiple property purchases for town open space or for the creation of conservation easements.

TRANSIT AND ACCESSIBILITY
• Reviewed and awarded a bike lane striping contract for work in Berthoud.
• Reviewed and approved our regional FLEX bus contract.
• Collaborated with the local U.S. House Representative and town staff to secure $864,000 in federal funding for local micro transit.
• Advocated for, reviewed, modified, and approved the $1,782,000, Berthoud 5 Year Sidewalk Improvement Plan.
• Approved an agreement for the construction of a roundabout at County Line Rd. and Mountain Ave.
• Advocated with the Town mayor in efforts to gain a passenger rail station in Berthoud by testifying before the Colorado House and Senate, the Front Range Passenger Rail Board, and multiple media outlets including CBS Denver and KUNC.

SUSTAINABILITY
• Reviewed contracts and purchase agreements for the acquisition of water units from the Colorado-Big Thompson Project, the Windy Gap Project and other local ditch companies for the Town of Berthoud.
• Required that historical water rights be transferred with the land at the time of annexation into the town.
• Approved bid for EV chargers at Berthoud Town Hall.
• Advocated for, reviewed, and approved the 2021 IECC updated building code.
• Introduced a 2030 Net Zero new construction building code resolution.
• Assisted in the creation of new oil and gas regulations for the Town of Berthoud to manage wells and development.
• Initiated the first ever Bat Week proclamation in Berthoud.
• Advocated for and initiated the first ever Berthoud Sustainability Plan.
• Conducted community outreach and education on tree care and maintenance as the Tree Committee Liaison, particularly with elementary students in the Thompson School District.
• Coordinated with the Town Forester on policy and code improvements for street tree care and maintenance, along with installations in new developments as the Tree Committee Liaison.
• Coordinated with the Town Forester on preparation for and prevention of Emerald Ash Borer.
