ABOUT
I grew up on a lake in the woods near the small town of New London, on the edge of the prairie in western Minnesota. My father is a former police officer and private investigator and my mother is a school paraprofessional. Both of them taught me and my two brothers the value of an education, service, honesty, and hard work. I hold those values close to my heart.

After graduating high school, I attended college at North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota. I graduated in 2012 with a Masters in Architecture, a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Design, and a Minor in Landscape Architecture and Natural Resource Management.

During college and after graduation, I worked with the National Park Service, the Forest Service, and the City of Boulder, Colorado. I worked on and led crews in trail construction and natural resource management throughout the Front Range of Colorado. While working in Rocky Mountain National Park, I met my future wife, Anna. I fell in love with her and this part of the country. We purchased a house on the north end of Berthoud in 2013 and have been working to build a home for our family ever since.
In 2014, I was hired as an architectural intern by alm2s, an award-winning architectural firm out of Fort Collins, Colorado. In over five years working there, I gained extensive experience in historical renovations, institutional projects, laboratories, and residential developments. I was involved in a wide variety of projects in northern Colorado and Montana.
I have always believed in public and professional service to my community. Beginning with my work as an Eagle Scout in high school, serving as the President of my professional fraternity in college, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, and serving on the Town of Berthoud Planning Commission since 2018, community engagement on a personal and professional level has always been a passion of mine.

In 2019, I stepped away from my architectural career to spend my time raising our three, wonderful children, to support my wife's career as a vice president in the sugar beet industry, to earn my architectural license, and to spend more time on the betterment of our community.

In 2022, I was elected to the position of Trustee in the Town of Berthoud and was eventually elevated to the position of Mayor Pro-Tem. I have the honor of serving our beautiful community of over 14,000 residents that invests heavily in our parks, capital projects, and planning. With a budget of around $100 million, it is my goal in public service to utilize Berthoud’s financial and staff resources to wisely develop the town in a way that sets an example for northern Colorado.

Our family enjoys spending a lot of time together outdoors, hiking, biking, sports, art, visiting parks, and seeing our extended family and friends. Our family project is to build our lake property and getaway cabin in northern Minnesota, also know as the Eagles Nest Project on this website.

I personally enjoy home renovation, woodwork, gardening, modeling, painting, and reading in my spare time. I also swim, fish, camp, mountain bike, hike, and rock climb.
